Take Back Your Family Time
Why do we need to take back our family time?
Many of today's families suffer from time famine and parental anxiety. Parents want to provide their children with opportuities without running them ragged. Families have lost control of their time and are missing out on family rituals such as regular dinners, weekend outings, visits with grandparents, and family vacations. This has led to a loss of confidence in leadership, relegating parents to the role of chauffeur, purchasing agent, and recreation director.
The Take Back Your Family Time Video is an exciting new resource which captures Dr. Bill Doherty as he discusses the problem of overscheduled kids and underconnected families with community members. From talking about the frantic, anxious culture of parenting to discussing ways for families to reclaim quality time together, Dr. Doherty gets to the heart of the issues and encourages parents to regain their leadership.
A step-by-step faciliator guide accompanies the Take Back Your Family Time video. It is ideal for leading discussions around family time and interaction, and versatile enough to be used in a variety of settings. The layout of the guide follows that of the video and includes supplmeental information to prepare facilitators to prompt audience participation.

I think this program (and Bill) are real gems and more timely than ever. We deal, mainly, in live speakers and were a little hesitant to present a video. However, Bill is extremely gifted and pulls the audience in immediately. I say that most sincerely. I can't tell you how many programs I've screened for our parish in the past few years - no one compares. I often turn the others off within the first 10 minutes, saying to myself, "it's no Bill Doherty". He's articulate without being too wordy and, unlike many presenters, it's not about him.
He's respectful of his audience and allows his knowledge/ passion for the subject to speak for themselves. And he's very likable - very easy to relate to. Those are gifts. Every attendee has asked where to hear him speak live. We hand them a list of his publications instead - it's not the same! Know that we plan to continue offering the evenings/mornings in our parish. Bill's message is too important to shelf.
